The creative inspiration for The Burnt Soul series comes from the harm caused by natural disasters to all things in the world and the reflections on them. It presents the image of a human torso that has been scorched, symbolizing the tenacious and unyielding spirit when experiencing difficulties and pains. It also conveys the ceramist's deep understanding of life and infinite expectations for the future.

This ceramic work is made of clay slices to achieve relief effect. It embodies a soul huddled in the abyss of pain. The whole work is full of a dynamic sense of struggle and turmoil. It shows the instinctive resistance of the soul when it suffers a huge impact, and also resembles the contracture and deformation after being licked by the raging flames. It vividly presents the intuitive feeling of being "scorched" through a three-dimensional form, enabling viewers to feel the intense pain contained therein from all angles.

The ceramist's ingenuity can be fully revealed by the details. The faint and delicate textures on the surface of the work are like the weak cries sent out by the soul in torment or the fine scratches engraved in the depths of the heart by pain. These details endow the work with life and emotions, making it not just a static piece of ceramic art but more like a living being with stories and a soul. It silently tells the viewers its arduous past.

The artistic value contained in The Burnt Soul is not only limited to its exquisite craftsmanship and unique aesthetic form, but also lies in its ability to deeply touch the inner world of the viewers and trigger strong emotional resonance. It reminds us that we should pay attention to the hidden traumas inside our hearts and learn to understand and heal them while pursuing the beauty of life. The ceramic work reveals the pain of the soul. It can still become a unique and meaningful "work of life" even with a scorched past. The soul can find the strength and value of rebirth in imperfection and struggle as well as face the flames of life with a more tenacious attitude.

The work enable us to reflect on all kinds of hardships and setbacks in life. The predicaments that may scorch our souls like flames leave indelible marks in the depths of our spirits. Meanwhile, it also enlightens us that we can still display a different kind of tenacity and strength in the midst of fragmentation and struggle even if our souls are severely damaged. The soul can become an unique witness to the existence of life. This ceramic work is like a mirror which reflects the common vulnerability and tenacity of human beings. It has become an exploration and reflection on the depth of the soul in artistic expression, allowing viewers to interpret, perceive and cherish every experience and growth of the soul.
