The 9th China Changchun International Ceramics Symposium was scheduled to be held in August, 2020. Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the gathering of ceramists and on-site creation is not realistic. With the consent of the Management Committee of Changchun Lotus Mountain Ecological Tourism Resort, this year’s ceramics symposium will take the form of “sending works for the symposium”.

Through communication and coordination, domestic and foreign ceramists understand this very well and support the adjustment. The enthusiasm for registering for the symposium is unabated and the submission of works (photos) is ongoing. According to incomplete statistics, as of April 30, a total of 212 artists from 36 countries and regions have registered for the symposium and have submitted nearly 600 photos of their works. Five of these countries and regions were not involved in the symposium before. It is worth mentioning that among the Chinese artists who registered for the symposium, there are 5 “national masters”. It can be seen that the quality of the works of this year’s symposium is not inferior to that of works in the past symposiums.

There is one month before the deadline (May 30).There will be more people who register for the symposium and submit their works (photos). A jury composed of experts will evaluate the submitted works and come up with a shortlist with about 50 candidates, who will be officially invited to participate in this year’s symposium.

There will be a large number of unique and exotic ceramic works from different countries to meet with the general public soon.
