1.      Pottery clay contains a large amount of iron; porcelain clay contains a large amount of aluminum. The porcelain clay is a mixture of porcelain stone powder and kaolin.

2.      Pottery is generally not glazed, and its surface is relatively rough; the surface of porcelain is glazed or painted, which makes it smooth and delicate.

3.      The firing temperature of pottery is generally below 1200 degrees with oxidation firing as the main method; porcelain firing temperature is above 1200 degrees, and even some can be fired up to 1400 degrees, mainly reduction firing. Porcelain is harder than pottery.
